Most winter mornings, the Bridgewater Canal is simply part of the landscape. But when a deep freeze arrives, everything changes. Seen from Brooklands Bridge, the canal becomes a study in line, symmetry and silence, stretching towards a distant horizon beneath frost-covered trees.
Only ever lasts for a few days, but it’s magical when it does.
