The mountainous country of Kyrgyzstan is home to nomadic herders who take their flocks up to the jailoo (high pastures) during the summer months and then take them to lower ground during the winter months. I spotted this herder on horseback with his dog alone in the mountains on his way to collect his flocks. I was stuck by how small we all are in this sort of wilderness.
